New DVD Rom drive....

I recently took out the old Xbox dvd rom and put in my old pioneer DVD writer as the old DVD rom was skipping when watching movies. I used a molex splitter to get power to the Pioneer. All works great, no more skipping when watching movies. Problem is though the Xbox always sees the Pioneer as the tray open, green flashing light on the front of the Xbox is getting annoying.

Anyone know a workaround to stop the light flashing / xbox thinking the tray is always open?

Also a daft question, anyone know any Dvd burning software for the Xbox ? lol

Or if you don't want to mess it up, you could put some black electrical tape over it.

Solution

Found a great solution, using XBMC as my dash it gives you the option of setting the LED colour, so its always orange now, though i could have had it cycle which looked pretty cool but the flashing still put me off.

Or you could get X3 Config Live and turn it off or set it for orange.
