New dvd rom?

Hello all,

I recently purchased an xbox (and order an X3 of course ) first thing I did of course was to take the box apart to identify what version of xbox I have. Now according to the tutorials online that I read I have a version 1.6 xbox (not 1.6b) ok so fine and dandy, but I noticed that the dvd rom in the box is made by Hitachi-LG , I was a bit worried that perhaps maybe I had a new version of xbox that was not listed yet. I haven't installed the chip yet since it is still in transit so I guess the true test will be when it arrives. I just wanted to inquire if this was an odd brand of dvd-rom since I have only read of Thompson, Samsung, and Phillips as being the brand of dvd-rom used in xboxes.

Wow thats odd never heard of that before, don't worry though LG makes pretty good PC drives.

i myself have a 18inch LCD screen from them and it is top of the class with more than a years everday use with no problems (yes i do use my pc that much call me a nerd if you want)
