hi guys first of all merry christams and a happy new year to you all:

just looked at xbox scene and seen the post by xecuter about the new products for 2005.
and i have a couple of questions:

1.what is the X3CE?
2.Does this been that the new X3 bios wont be out till 05?
3.And has anybody heard anything on the extensive PC App we was promised
to work with the X3 and What will it do?

Thanks Matt

i dont know but i hope theres no real difference because i got my chip soldered in and all (though its header pin so upgrade would be no solder). Still i dont really want to instal a new chip just because its prettier or somethin. the x3 is doing what im askin of it so im happy.

...2005 is less than a week away ;)
Sounds like it's definitely gonna be a happy new year!

I've not heard anything about the app, the only related thing that I've used my pc for so far was flashing the bios... so easy I thought I must have missed a chapter of instructions :D
Not sure what else could be done from the pc apart from changing bios settings.
I'm gonna forget about the new bios for now so I'll have a nice surprise when it's released!

Edit to say:

Flashing Drive

I had my xbox 360 flashed a year or 2 ago. I didn't play it very often and recently tried NFS HP. Without researching first (which I should have) and did the update and I guess my xbox is now banned. I really don't care since I never planned to use this xbox online.

Anyway, I took apart my xbox 360 and found out I have a DG-16D2S, FW ver. 84850C. From my research of the JungleFlasher Tutorial and Forums it looks like I will need the following. Although, before I order I just want confirmation that I am ordering the correct tools. Thanks!

Connectivity Kit V3 PRO - http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/hb-360-ck3p.html

Xecuter CK3 Probe - http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/hb-360-xck3pro.html

FYI. I do not have a serial port on my computer.

Re: Flashing Drive

What is the date on the back of the xbox 360?

If it is pre july 2009, you don't need the Probe
If it is Post July 2009, you need a probe

Also, you need to use a VIA Chipset SATA connection. I use a PCI Via Sata card (cheap online) to connect the SATA from PC to Drive

Otherwise, you will be fine -

Someone correct me if I am wrong

Re: Flashing Drive

Mine is 4-29-09.

Would I be able to connect without using a SATA Card? Just open my PC and connect it? I got plenty of connections I can use.

Also, I'm not sure what firmware my LiteOn Drive was flashed with. It will boot up older back ups. Although, I needed to use a activation disc in order to play back ups of recent. Because I ran the update on my xbox from NFS - HP. The activation disc will not work, only older back ups work.

I have read that using abgx360_v1.0.5 to patch AP25 back ups. Would it still work or would it be best for me to update to the latest firmware?

Re: Flashing Drive

if your drive is already flashed and doesn't play NFS HP, you can definitely get your firmware fairly easily

the only way to see if your computer will work is to try to see if it will work

try the key from ixtreme function

Yeah

Follow the directions in the jungleflash tutorial and you'll be fine

Re: Flashing Drive

Thanks everyone for your help. Will the Xecuter CK3 Probe be needed? Or do I just need the Connectivity Kit V3 PRO?

My 360 was flashed about a year and a half ago by someone else. I'm not sure what all was used.

Re: Flashing Drive

you will not need a probe

most likely, you could just use your xbox to power the drive

however, this is NOT advised

Re: Flashing Drive

So really the 'Connectivity kit v3 pro' is basically used to just power the drive? I'm still learning.. Thanks!

Re: Flashing Drive

All.. I made a mistake I have FW Ver. 74850C NOT the 84850C. I'm assuming this will change everything? Sorry about that! :-(

Re: Flashing Drive

this probably won't change anything, if you have old firmware on your lite-on, just find the drive in jungleflasher (try all the I/O) using your xbox to power the drive

it has never been proven that power the xbox without the drive actually bans, its just logged on the xbox

BUT everyone reccommends buying a power source for a dvd drive

once you have everything connected, just open the try of the dvd drive half-way, then press "dummy from ixtreme" then flash away

check out the jungleflasher tutorial for more information

Re: Flashing Drive

Ok, so I'm reading the Jungleflasher tutorial and not really seeing how you do this by using the xbox to power the LiteOn Drive. All I would need to do is plug the SATA connection to my computer and keep the LiteOn connected to the xbox? Then power the xbox (once DVD drive is connect to PC) on to get the drive to power on correct? Would it be OK to just plug into one of my SATA connections inside the computer? Or should I use a SATA card instead?

Re: Flashing Drive

the only way to know if an onboard SATA connection will work is to give it a try

the power connection stays connected to the xbox

plug the SATA to the dvd drive and to your computer motherboard

try to find it in the I/O ports of jungleflasher

if you do find it, open the dvd drive try (with eject on xbox) then pull the power plug from the back of the dvd drive (don't power down the xbox)

then push the tray of the dvd drive in half way, then replace the power to the dvd drive

MAKE SURE TO PLUG THE DRIVE IN CORRECTLY, DO NOT PLUG IT IN UPSIDE-DOWN

after this, press "dummy from ixtreme"

you should have your key then and will then be able to create firmware for ixtreme LT+ v1.1

then lite-on erase and flash the drive

Re: Flashing Drive

OK, I got the DVD Key and following the Jungleflasher tutorial. When I get to lite-on erase it does this..

Sending Lite-On-Erase request to port 0xB800
..............
Drive returned Status 0x72
Manufacturer ID: 0x0
Device ID: 0x0
Flash Name: Unknown type
Flash Size: n/a

It show's 'Drive in Vendor Mode!' but the Flash Chip Properties is blank. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Flashing Drive

sometimes this happens, its not a big deal usually

try this:

1. unplug drive
2. send intro/device id to that port you are using (press yes)
3. plug in drive

hopefully you'll see correct flash properties

Re: Flashing Drive

I'm using my xbox as the power source for the drive. Do I unplug the power connection from the Lite-On drive while keeping the xbox on?
