New Game Update?

Ok, so i followed all the instructions in this forum to flash my drive, it took some time but with help from you guys i got it.
Been playing backed up games for the last 6 months with no problems.
Now with one of the latest games it says i need to do an update Y/N?
What do i do?
Ive read through the forum and there are similar post, i think, but im confused if i say YES what will happen?
Or what do i do now so that i can continue playing the latest backed up games?

16202 is the newest dash - confirm you are on the newest

if not: flash your drive to stock fw/update to 16202/reflash to the appropriate cfw

sounds like a dash update..you will need to flash your drive back to stock then update your console ..what dash is your console on??

Ok, im gonna sound like a real dummy but i wanna get this right...
so in my system info it says D:2.0.15574.0
does this mean anything or am i in the wrong place?

Flash your drive back to stock firmware, update the console over XBL or use a USB stick, flash LT+ firmware.

As I said, flash the drive back to stock firmware before accepting any updates.

It's the same process as you went through for flashing LT firmware, just substitute LT firmware for stock firmware.

You will use firmware from the POST folder because your dashboard version is currently at 15574.

Make sure you have a backup of your DVD key before you go ahead and flash your drive with the stock firmware.

with a comment like this does that mean you don't have your Key saved anywhere...dummy.bin is usually where your Key is stored
you need YOUR key from your drive otherwise you have no hope
so getting a 'stock' dummy.bin is pointless or you are just really confused

thanks guys,
yeah im reading the manual and listening to what you are all saying and im getting more confused...
I thought when you apply the dummy.bin every thing else happened...
so no DVD key...? I guess its for the trash now?
And just to clarify things i did read the jf manual and followed it step by step, and you guys all helped me flash my drive months ago.
but now an update is needed and none of anything im reading eg. dummy.bin, jtag whatever, makes no sense, but im trying.
im doing everything you are saying plus searching the through similar posts, im just trying to understand.
if it works good, if not, i gave it a go.
just need some help.

this thread might help...it's step by step ...first you need to get your DVD key using a probe 3
getting your key is the most important part

only guessing you have a Liteon from your details

i'm surprised that any game is asking for a dash update if you are already on 15574...what game is it ??
and updating from that dash shouldn't lose your ability to play backups either...it's just recommended in case something goes wrong with the update

yes it a liteon drive.
So, i can still extract the DVD key even though its been flashed with LT+3.0?
And i follow the same instructions as when i flashed it (with the probe etc.)?
