But you'll need to install some hardware such as the 79 Pass Key to be able to flash it.

It can be found HERE but be warned this is not a beginners soldering job.

The firmware is free to download.

Have read of Textbooks Tutorial it mentions where to get all of the bits and pieces you need to flash your firmware.

Xbins is a word you may want to look for.... :wink:

Read everything as many times as it takes for you to fully understand. Watch the videos.

i cant find anything about the 79FL drive tho?. its for 79fk drive in texbooks tut. ive found ware i can get pass key but not sure wat to use off xbins. i have xbins but i dont see any 79FL stuff all i can see 79fk. thank u tho for trying to help me .nick much appreciated

Nick,

Once you have fitted the 79 Passkey and got the drive into mode B you then flash it as if it was a 0078 drive using the latest version of the maximus firmware toolbox which is currently at version 4.0. This can be found on Xbins.

The actual flashing of the drive is really simple compared to fitting the Passkey.....

thank you m8 i understand you now. ive orderd the pass key and i will post here and tell you the results .thanks dumb me ive looked on installing it thats cool i can do that. thanks nick
