So Ive got a new hdd its a Toshiba Stor.e canvio 1 tb 3,5''. When it is plugged in the Xbox, the xbox gets stuck at the Xbox 360 logo screen for about ten minutes, than it finally boots. What can I do? If I unplug the HDD, it boots, but then i have to reconnect it again. How can I solve this??

this is an issue with the USB controller in the external drive ive read about it before not sure if there is a fix at all.
is your FSD scanning at startup? maybe uncheck this option?

plug in your usb after you boot the console is about all you can do

I had this problem with a usb3 external hdd. I bought an external usb2 enclosure and put the hdd in there and it all works.

Mine has external power. I think all 3.5" external hdd have external power.
I think i will just use this one for the movies and get a new one. Must it have external charging and can it be a usb 3 and 2 compatible?

U have a phat or slim? Already have an internal hd? If you buy another one just get a 2.5 inch sata so you won't need external power
