new info on unlocking drives!

can somebody check out that "ultimate boot disk" prog and see if it works? i'd do it myself, but my ATA controller doesnt support seagate drives, so i have to use a friends, and i dont wanna have to make the trip.

I actually used this in my attempt to unlock my hard drive.

It's not a miracle worker. It just has TONS of different OSs and tools on a bootable CD.

It does allow you to boot to DOS and use ATAPWD, but you still need to know the password.

Most of the problems with ATA passwords OUTSIDE the xbox seem to be laptop HDs and etc that get locked with a BLANK password because of a bios burp. this CD makes it easy to go in and unlock it then.

With the Xbox locked HD's... they're locked on purpose and you need the password. This CD won't fix that problem.

Not even if you use the "unlock with master password option"?. Seems to me the master password would come from the factory where the harddrive was made. Like all western digital harddrives have the same master password set from the western digital factory and not from the xbox factory. Maybe im wrong but what would be the point of having a master password then ?.
