New install and FRAG issues

I have just installed a new X3CE chip with adapter in a 1.6b. Worked ok on banks 5678 and flash bios 3.03 came up. Installed the x3 3294 bios and now I the box restarts 3 times and FRAGs. I can bypass the mod and it boots normally.

When I try to start in backup mode nothing happens.

I have checked all the bank configurations, and it seems to FRAG on any configuration using banks 5 6 7 & 8...

I have checked the connections with the chip, pushed on the adapter to make sure that the connection is ok, checked the D0 connection and I am 100% it is ok.

Is there a way to reset the chip back so I can try another BIOS version?

If I can boot from a CD am I able to put the Flash BIOS onto the other banks?

Please help as this is starting to drive me crazy!

ok you have flash the wrong x3 3294 bios there are two
x3 3294 for v1.0 to v1.5 xboxs
x3 3294 v16 plus for v1.6 v1.6b xboxs
if you flashed the chip on the same switch setting as flashbios 3.0.3 off on off off off then you have flash over the only working flashbios that works
flashbios 3.0.1 works on v1.0 to v1.6 xbox not v1.6b
flashbios 3.0.3 works on v1.0 to v1.5 as well as v1.6b not v1.6
your x3 backup (power eject at same time) has flashbios 3.0.1
so the only way to flash the chip is by hotswap or send it back to get reflashed with flashbios 3.0.3 again
you should have flashed with switch settings on on off off off then once you got working x3bios flash the backup with flashbios 3.0.3 with x3 config

Cool, thanks for the info. That was what I had pretty much worked out after reading everybody else's posts...

Is that possible to send it back and get it re-flashed?

Is the hotswap the only option?

Can the flash bios be booted from a CD?

Also, do you think it possible to use a X2.6CE in my configuration to load flash bios, do the hotswap to recover the dead chip?

The solderless adapters look exaclty the same...

That would be a bit cheaper than buying the X3CE

hotswap only option as you do not have working bios on chip to boot cd dvd
you counld keep trying backup bank power eject it may work i have a v1.6 xbox that i have flashbios 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 that work dont ask me why but i reflashed my chip with other bios but did not like it so reflash banks 7 with 3.0.1 and bank 8 with 3.0.3 that did not work before but now will ??? so try bankup a couple time and see if you can get it to boot
