yes and no.

the rebuild pcb is the easy way to rebuild the lpc. the other way is to use wires. but either way you have to rebuild the lpc.

Flashing

Hello everyone, long time reader first time poster =)Thank you everyone for the tutorials and help.

So... I have flashed the Hitachi DVD drive. Now I'm trying to gather information about flashing this new Lite-on drive I have.

The lite-on drive is the 7 series. From the info I've gathered I need to spend about $45 bucks on buying the probe and the ck3? to flash the lite-on? No other way around it?

About flashing....
Should I update all of my x box's I flash for friends and family first to the latest firmware? Like install kinect dashboard on all of the drives before flashing?

How often does firmware get updated on avg?

1. lite-ons can also be modded via MRA hack (same way for 9xxx series drives) check out the jungleflasher tutorial

2. you should always update to the latest firmware

The MRA hack is using the probe to get the DVD key correct?

I'm saying, should I update the dashboard to kinect use before I flash with the latest JF?.

Also, I thought I flashed my Hitachi drive but it wont play my burnt DVDs. (my back up dvds)

how can I check if the drive flashed or not? Maybe I am burning the games wrong. I followed the tutorial on the flash but it seemed to easy.

I hate being new to things.

the MRA hack involves soldering and resistors

you can pick up the parts at a radio shak for about 3 bucks

if your hitachi drive is trying to read the games, but can't try the POT tweak

you should update the dashboard before flashing if possible
although updating after flashing shouldn't be a problem
