Installed New X3 chip. Solder points look good. All lights on the chip light up, external switch lights up red for disabled. Chip is FRAG'ing. Box will boot up in normal bios with holding of the power button. Is there anything else that Im missing? HDD and CD-ROM are hooked up but not screwed in. Its a brand new chip, do I have to do anything else with it? I understand that soldering is usualy the problem with these symptoms.

Far from here!
did you use the rebuild? or the wire install? I would assume that it is your solder, If it boots up fine to msdash.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Its not fragging when chip is disabled, but frags when enabled - solder error.
2. All leds are on - solder error is somewhere other than power points.
3. You need to check all your solder points cause that will be your problem.

Ok, on the subject of bioses.
The X3 comes pre-flashed with Flash Bios, this is just a bios that allows you to flash another bios to the chip, nothing else. Use flashbios to flash X3 1959 Bios to your chip, this will give you all the features spoken about.

The X3 doesn't come pre-flashed with the X3 bios because it contains M$ code.

hope this helps clarify things a bit.

yes it does, thanx. I think it may be a solder problem with the D0 wire. All power works all lights are on just frags so I know the led lights and 5v are fine . So I cant even get to the flash bios screen.
