The chip is "Fraging". Check your D0 solder point. And have you done the wire install or the pin header install? I did the wire install once and had a fragging issue.

Ok i have a 1.6b motherboard. Xecuter 2.6 chip. I soldered the rebuild on. the d0 wire i believe is good. My soldering skills suck. This is my first one. Its not as bad as i thought i would do. This happened in my last xbox. I thought it was the chip but it isnt. Im so clueless. Im about to throw it away and call it quits

Im gonna go buy some solderwick. I believe thats what it is called to unsolder stuff. Anyways i need a really good tutorial for the install of the 2.6 xecuter chip and the rebuild install also. Now im gonna do this a different way. I soldered the pin headers on first then attempted to put rebuild over it. I think that is my problem. If i place the pin header and rebuild in place then try to solder would that be a problem. I want a really good connection. 1 more question. I just thought of something. I had a older xbox version and this happened and now i have a 1.6. Do i need to flash this chip or anything, or should it just work?????

ok if it was in another xbox (chip) then you will need to flash it with the right bios
x2 5035 for v1.0 to v1.5 xboxs
x2 5035 v16 plus for v1.6 and v1.6b xboxs
but if new
flashbios 3.0.1 works on v1.0 to v1.6 xboxs but not v1.6b xboxs
flashbios 3.0.3 works on v1.o to to v1.6b xboxs but not v1.6 xboxs

im guessing first i need to figure out this fragging problem? I am unsure of what to do. Would you suggest that I take off the rebuild part and manually wire the parts together?

if the chip was out of a v1.0 to v1.5 and was flash with a x2 bios then if you put it in a v1.6 v1.6b xbox it will frag
try bank 2 it should have flashbios 3.0.3
if you have a v1.6 this will not work
flashbios 3.0.1 works on v1.0 to v1.6 xboxs but not v1.6b xboxs
flashbios 3.0.3 works on v1.0 to to v1.6b xboxs but not v1.6 xboxs
i wounld say you need to flash the chip with the right bios before you can tell if your install is good or bad

Alright, so both banks frag. What about when the chip is in off mode? Does it still frag (cuz it shouldnt by all rights)? What dyope of install did you use? I saw tht you uses the LPC rebuild, but did you use the wire install or the pin header? Also, make sure for a third/fourth time that you have the D0 solderied right, I missed mine by one poing and was too errogant to recheck it.

Ok the chip was flashed w/ a non 1.6 motherboard. The board i have now is a 1.6b, so im going to have to flash the chip. Right now both banks frag. I am at work right now so when i get home i will see what happens when the chip is turned off. Now how would i flash my chip if it will not boot when the chip is on??

Ok i just realized something. One of the holes that the pin header inserts into ( one of the blank ones) got filled in w/ solder. How can i get this out. and will it cause a problem????

i had this problem as well about a month ago i think. I tried to use solder wick (i think i spelt tht right). but I was too impatient when using it and it didnt work for me, so i used a de-soldering sucktion tube. I applied heat to the solder on one side and the tube on the other, while the solder was hot i removed the solder. And no, it souldnt cause any kind of problem as long as u dont somehow splash solder anywhere else on the board.

umm well then im lost.... lol I took off my rebuild and did all connections by wire. Im not sure if the wires you use matter. What I did is took an IDE cable apart and used thoes wires to make the connections.
