New mariko 9.2.0

Hi guys. Help would be appreciated. Bought a brand new mariko on 9.2.0. I only turned it on to tgo through the setup process. Did not connect wifi or internet. Just created a account and went through procedures. Shall I update to 10.04 using nintendo servers prior to installing sx core? Or install it prior? Thanks

Ok thank you. And im assuming using the regular nintendo method to update. Using original system. Nothing fancy or third party means?

Perfect thanks. Sx core arriving today. What specifications is recommended on the solder and flux to be used would also be great. For thermal paste have arctic silver 5 already

What's the thought process behind updating prior to the modchip install? Why wouldn't you want to leave your sysNAND as low and upgrade emuNAND with Choixdujour (?) to 10.0.4?

I'm in the same position as the OP and just want to make sure I do this so I have a clean sysNAND that is useable?

Hmm. That is the reason for me asking whether to update first or not. I would also like to keep the system as clean and possibly having the greatest chance of being able to go online at some point if safe to do so lol.

Update with Choi on Mariko = brick.

To update emunand later you have to turn stealth off. This is why its advised to update first I guess

Yes i forgot i did see choi is bricking it.

I do have another question please guys. As far as the sdcard. Shall i install that into the switch prior/or after the update in order to format it before sx install, or that does not matter? Thank you

You can always format the Micro SD Card with computer

I like to update switch to 10.4 with exfat Micro SD Card then take the update when asked. This way my customers have the most up to date and exfat ready in case they decide on exfat. Then I install SX Core chip. I do the Trinket M0 mods in the same fashion.

Thank you for response. Just to clarify please. So format the chip using computer as exfat. Install into switch then update the ofw. Correct? Dont mean to be annoying lol. Just wish to do things right as you experts have tested and experienced.
