hi guys,

im a new member so take it easy :p i have searched around but think i need more individual help

ive attempted to glitch my trinity 360 slim today, i got a good nand dump with no bad blocks

i then started installing the ~TX coolrunner and all went well apart from the r3b15 part but i finally got it soldered on (i thought) i then couldnt get my nand x to write the ecc file it was showing couldn't find usb interface.

so after some faffing i thought ill see if the console boots but it doesnt, all i get is the beep and nothing else i cant access the nand at all.

ive read that i could of taken the resister out on the r3b15 point but i didnt get that close to it so i dont think its that anyway just looking for some advice on what to do, im at work at the minute till 11.00 so cant take pics ect.

im also thinking i might of lost the pad at r3b15 (regreting it now) so may need an alternate point?

just to sum up

i cant access the nand anymore, and i havnt modified the nand at all yet

the problem happend after trying to install the coolrunner (mainly r3b15)

thanks to anyone who can help

Yeah sounds live you lifted the pad. You can try gently cleaning the spot, flux and try to put solder on the point (no wires) That may bring it back to life. If it does then try an alternate point. If not look at this thread; http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74992

Not sure what you mean by cant access the nand anymore, looks like you didn't access it in the first place "couldn't find usb interface"

So at this point, you have not flashed anything to your nand, but you have the CoolRunner installed, and are trying to boot the console?

i dumped the nand before installing the coolrunner and everything went fine (no couldnt find usb error)

i tried to boot the console with the 3v cable disconected from the coolrunner could this be why its not booting?

i was in a rush to get to work so couldnt tinker with it

and no, i havnt edited the nand ive only read the nand and created the ecc file and when i tried writing the ecc i got the error and then found that the console would not boot

With a good nand it would boot with or without the coolrunner assuming it was installed correctly. Post pics of install. Especially r3b15. Pretty sure you've lifted the pad from what you describe.

im pritty sure its something to do with either the pad or the resistor next to the pad as this is the only bit i struggled with

when i get home im going to remove everything ive done and see what happens

i really dont want to send this for someone else to do im the type of guy who would rather have a go, and if i fail then its a lesson learnt

if yo uhavent altered the nand, then its your soldering the consoles will boot with coolrunner installed correctly.. even without any nand modifications

i think your right, i cant take pictures at the mo im still at work, i will about 11.30ish uk time when i get home

but woulnt the pad only effect the console if the coolrunner was connected to the pad?

i had a problem with the same spot, the pad was lifted and not connected to the resistor. i scratched the trace a little down the road and soldered wire from trace to the resistor. booted fine. might wanna try that.

ps. it should boot even if the coolrunner is installed

Cheers mate I thought this is what I might have to do, don't suppose you got a tut have you?

Does this make connecting the coolrunner wire easier too? As this is where I was struggling as I can't get hold of a magnifying glass

well the story goes like this. I had the wire soldered and while moving the console my finger caught it and lifted the trace (about 0.5 cm in length). i used a scalpel to scratch the insolation from the lifted trace and then cleaned with alcohol. afterwards i made a blob of solder and drowned the whole lifted trace in solder. (make sure to insulate underneath so you won't damage more traces while doing that.) took a single strand from a wire and drowned one end in the solder blob (together with the trace) and the other end was soldered to the resistor. that's about it. now connect the orange wire from the coolrunner either to the blob or the ressistor.
I know it sounds very crude but it works great and is fairly easy compared to regular trace soldering. i hope it works out for you.

I'll give it a go!

Any house hold items to scratch the trace I could use :p
And will I clearly be able to see the trace? Does it clearly run from the r3b15 point?

So just to clarify I'm scratching the trace away and say attaching a from the resistor (to the right of the pad the coolrunner wire goes to?) to the scratche trace after I've put solder on?

Sorry for all the q's

Will sand paper do to scratch the trace? Obviously not to hard though?

right to those who are interested i got it glitched ;)

didnt have to trace cut ect i just used the alternate point for r3b15 its on the other side of the mobo and is much easier to solder to look up some tutorials on here is alot easier
