New mod fragging- help!

This is my second mod I've done and I'm doing it for a friend.. I'm installing an X3 in a v1.1 box.. Everything went smoothly, cleaned out the LPC holes, soldered in the pin header and the D0, lan, and hdd wires. Nice neat solders (inspected them with a magnifying glass)... Put it all back together and it does the thing where it kinda false-starts twice and then frags on the 3rd attempt.

I've taken it all apart, cleaned all the solder points, and resoldered 3 different times now.. I am completely confident there is nothing wrong with the soldering. Yet that's the only suggestion I can find for this problem.

Anyone have any other ideas?

I was having a similiar problem. One of my wires that run to the lpc on the bottom of the board had come loss when I was desoldering the lpc.

I re-ran the wire and everything worked good.

If you hold down the button can you disable the chip?

Yeah, it will boot to the MS dashboard with the mod disabled by holding the power button down like normal..

Nothing else I can really say other than it sounds like a bad solder on the LPC. Try em all again, can't hurt. Make sure there are not short ciruits, check it all with a multimeter if you have one.

Like I said, I've desoldered and resoldered the entire thing multiple times... It's been clean every time, at least as much as I can see with a magnifying glass..

Don't have a multimeter unfortunately, nor do I have the extra cash to pick one up.. :p
