I would like to aplogize in advance...I have tried looking through these specific forums, and have not found any aid yet...I may not know exactly what I am looking for though...

Anyways, I attempted my first BIOS Flash, with my Xecuter 2.6, HTTP Flash, it worked, but the I flashed it with the wrong version of Evox BIOS (M7 to be exact)...I have a 1.6 Xbox, so I think that is the problem at hand...and with the backup BIOS not compatible with 1.6, I can't access either BIOS's...so now I am not sure what to do.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

You have a couple options. 1st you can buy a programmer for not that much money and that will solve all your problems. 2nd there is an eject button trick you can use to get the other version of Cromwell to work. I don't know exactly how but you can search the forums. Something about pressing eject a bunch of times and 3.0.3 will pop up. Again not 100 percent on this but I remeber reading something that Martin C wrote. Good luck!

Thank you sir for the help. I want to try to avoid a programmer purchase for now, so I will read on this eject button method. Thanks.

Programmer is the way to go. There is no backup bios on the X2.6's only on the X3's.
Once you get the chip flashed with a working bios though, you can make the 2nd bank flashbios 3.0.1 or 3.0.3 depending on which works for your xbox.

Yea, and the mini programmer works with the 2.6 chip too right? I'm almost completely sure it does now, but you know, just to make sure.

mini programmer? not sure that i've seen it. The xecuter programmer is availale from resellers and other dealers, but yeah, i know some other programmers work on Xecuter chips as well.

Good luck. There is a tut on how to use the programmer on the Home Page here at xecuter. If you have any trouble let us know.....By the way the programmer I got is kind of flaky sometimes. It comes up with connection errors. Just keep trying and reconnecting the programmer to your LPT port. Also something a lot of people forget to do (even though the tut says to do it) is to connect your switch and turn it on with flash protect off. Good Luck again
