So I bought a used 360 about a year ago with LT+ 1.9. It has played everything fine up to dead island. Asked to update that wouldn't work.

Now the only way to get it working again seems to be to reflash. I am trying to get everything I need, however there are so many guides with people using different products that its all confusing. So is there anything other then what I need to do what I need that im missing?

Blaster CK3 + Sata VIA 6124 (dont remember exact number) IDE card. I know the USB Pro makes it easier, but the SATA card should work just fine? I have also read some people can update with the a game like Madden 12..but wasn't 100% on this?

All depends on what drive you have and do you have a back up of your drive key.

For example, if you have your drive key already then you just plug your drive up to your sata making sure its powered and youre fine to go ahead as long as your sata chipset is supported. Yes youre right 360Pro makes it so much easier.

If you dont have your key then youre going to need a probe 3 also.

its a Benq drive. I am sure I would have to back it up, as I have never done it, but was done previously before I bought it. I can use a plain SATA card instead of the 360pro was my question though really. As far as probe..it says its only needed liteon drives?

Yes youre correct its only for liteon drives. I meant to type that but forgot lol.

BenQ are one of the easiest drives to work on. My onboard sata on my motherboard supports them easily.

So all I can say is you can use a lot of sata cards and they will be compatible with the benq but theres no 100% guarantee that it will work until you try it.

Figured, but thought I would get the 6421 just because it was cheap and most seem to work. If thats the case all i really need then is the Blaster CK3 correct? At least on the hardware side, I got jungleflasher and the like.

ive flashed Benq's with a via 6421a card before with no problems
great to hear :) Thanks!
