Sorry if this is the wrong thread but Im looking to buy a new switch(not the lite) from amazon and would like to jailbreak it and buy SX OS but I read somewhere the new Switches cant be jail broken? Is this true? Is there anyway to find out if a new switch purchased from amazon can be jailbroken or not because that would be my deciding factor on purchasing one

Your chances of finding one in stores and perhaps Amazon are slim. I would recommend checking locally (Craigslist, fb market, ect) and even Ebay. You'd be surprised how many people will tell you the first few digits of the serial number lol. Good luck finding one!

So I cant buy a newer model with the better battery and be able to jailbreak it? Its just what deployed with a newer firmware that cant be cracked?
The red box ones are the brand new ones getting released and youre saying NO current jailbreak out there can jailbreak those or just SX jailbreaqk cant?

No exploit at all for the red boxes. Well, on firmware 4.1.0 there is, but it's very different than what you see now and is much more complicated. Also you run much higher risks of bricking the system. So no, don't get one of the consoles you're wanting to get. Not happening yet.
The older consoles had a hardware exploit that cannot be patched. The newer consoles, the one you want, has had that hardware exploit patched. Feel free to purchase one, but you won't be hacking it any time soon.

Not correct. The red box models have no exploit at this time. The software hack with caffeine, what you're referring to, won't work. Only ipatched models of the first iteration (non red box) can use that exploit.
You know what? You're absolutely right. My mistake, and thank you for correcting that! I'm not sure why I was assuming it was the red box. Massive brainfart lol

I believe the new consoles are fully patched but don't be so upset - the battery is something you can deal with especially having the choice for Battery cases for switch

At this point your only option is eBay or other sites and to buy from a seller who says it is a hackable switch. Zero chance to buy it from retail stock at this point.
What about the black Friday bundle with Mario Cart 8? Are those not the old switch versions which are hackable?
