New Switch, quick question

Hi everyone. I purchased a Switch (and luckily it is unpatched) but I updated the firmware to 8.0.1 without considering modding. I don't mind waiting until 8.0.1 support is out so i'm trying learn as much as I can before it is released.

My main concern is I'd like to play online as long as I can before I am probably inevitably banned, and I understand using SX OS's emunand is the best way to approach this.

My question is, after I purchase a license and create an emunand on a SD card, will I have to enter RCM and inject the payload every time I boot up or does this only apply if I want to enter the CFW partition on my Switch?

In other words, if I wanted to play online with my legit games on OFW could I just power on the Switch and let it boot into OFW or is it similar to a tethered jailbreak from the old iOS days where I must inject the payload no matter if I want to enter CFW or OFW?

Thanks.

What Nintendo can or cannot see noone really know, but setting autorcm so you don't need to enter rcm manualy every time will afaik get you banned

Thanks for the reply. That's what I've read as well - something about AutoRCM modifying your sysnand and can eventually cause a ban. I don't plan to use AutoRCM.

My question was more or less, if I'm out in the middle of nowhere and I don't have a cable to inject the payload, could I boot normally into OFW without RCM and play legit games or am I SOL until I get my hands on something to inject the payload?

From what I understand it corrupts the boot 0 or 1 partition which causes the Switch to boot to RCM, which is the chips recovery mode I believe. At least that is my understanding. So yea, that will for sure send a flag back to Nintendo if you turn it on and connect.

You're talking about if I use autorcm correct? I plan to leave it off and use the jig to boot into emunand for CFW.

If I want to boot into OFW I'd do nothing and start it normally.

Thanks for the answers everyone! Last question: I see screenshots of the SX OS after injecting payload where it says Boot custom FW, Boot original FW, and options.

Is there a difference with Boot original FW and simply turning on the system?

Sorry if this is a noob question - trying to make sure I have everything in order before I proceed.

If i have understood it correct the Boot OFW from the SX splash screen is if you have updated your OFW with choi so it won't burn the fuses, and then again, if doing that you will get banned if going online

If you boot to OFW using the SX bootloader it will ignore your efuses. The efuses are what tell the console what FW it should be running. It's a little more than that, but I think that sums it up.

Got it. I don't care for preserving my switch's fuses. Thanks everyone!
Just ask again if you have more questions, that why we are here

Sorry to bump this thread again but I have a serious question about the booting into official firmware through the sx menu. You mentioned that it would get you banned because it skips the fuse check. So are all switches with sx core installed at a major ban risk?

the only way to play online on official firmware on sx core is to boot into it through the sx menu. So you’re saying it will get banned?
I want to have sysnand for online playing and emunand for offline sx mods but don’t want to get banned.

I’ve been using sx pro this way for a year without a ban but I power into ofw by just pressing power button
