New X3 install, everything working apart from 256k backup

Hello all, Ive just installed a X3 in my box after taking out my old xecuter. It boots fine with chip enabled / disabled but when I try the power and eject the light goes purple for a minute then it makes a whining sound and shuts down. Sometimes it reboots with chip enabled, blue light.

Any help would be great.

Advise!!!!! before Updating

Okay i gotta console that has an old dashboard. From my understanding it is Jtag-able to be able to run freeboot.....
but the thing is i want to play codmw2 but the game is asking for an update and i dont want to do it till i get it sent off to get jtaged but it will take me awhile to do it and i want to play the game aswell.. is there any way to take the update off the game so the console wont update? or should i just play the dam game and shoot mother fer's to hell....

I would buy a new 360 and play MW2 on it .

Save the Jtag ... not many around with old dash mate

no dont update this is asking you to update the dashboard not the game.
