Ok, I have read all the instructions, FAQs, you name it....I still need help.

From what I know, my box is a 1.6b with the new X3 chip. I believe I accidently first flashed ver 3.03 onto the 5678 bank and then corrected it with 1234 by setting the dip switches to on on off off off. ( this is with the CD method)

Ok, If I quick press the power button it boots up to the original blue screen menu and not the Xbox splash page with Xecuter Rox my Box ordeal. But, it does say Bios v3.03 and 2048k (I think this confirms that both 1mb banks are flashed with v3.03 - a problem?).

Of course a long press of the power button brings me an OEM Xbox Splash page. Not what I want!

Do I need to do anything with my stock HD to make this work?

What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance

Start from bios v3.03 (any bank containing it) select method of flashing bios(disk, ftp, ect.), select either banks 1234 or 5678 and flash bios 3029 or what ever version of x3 bios you have. when you flash the new bios it will overwrite the old flash bios.

I actually have both versions (3.03 and 3029)...which one do I want? Maybe I should ask what are the differences? Does the X3 come with 3.03 burned onto it? Thanks.

3.03 is a flash bios your chip should already have that and that's the legal bios. 3029 is what you want to flash 3.03 over with. 3029 will give you the chance to put a dash and do everything you got your chip for in the first place.

Just make sure your back up works before you flash over the 3.0.3 (Power/Eject together)

It should be on your chip already, mine had the 3.0.1 on a 16b board, so the back up was unusable.

Once you get your 3029 flashed, you can always update your back up to the proper bios just to be on the safe side.
