New Xenon on 2.0.16203.0. What are my options?

OK first let me apologize. I'm completely new to modding the XBox 360 and have not followed the scene at all and have done a fair amount of googling to try to get this answered but I'm getting either mixed answers or ancient answers so I figured I'd just bite the bullet and ask. I'm not a total noob though. I have done the custom dash on the original XBox, I have a phatty PS2/network adapter/hdloader setup, I have a CFW PSP, a CFW PS3, a VHBL Vita, I've letterbombed my Wii, so basically if it can be modded, I mod it.

OK, so anyway, I got an old refurbished Xenon off of ebay dirt cheap and it's currently on 2.0.16203.0 dashboard. I want to know what my options are if somebody would be so kind to point me in the right direction. From what I've read the dashboard is too new to jtag, and I'm seeing some people say the Xenons can't be RGH'd but others talk like it can be. And also I've read that in one of the more recent dashboard updates it updated the dvd drive's firmware so does that affect the ability to do the dvd drive hack to play burned discs?

Basically, I only picked up the 360 to play the exclusives like Lost Odyssey, the original Saints Row, the Fable series and a few others that aren't available on any other platform. The discs are cheap enough used that I wouldn't mind just updating it if there's no real good hack/mod for it as it is. I'm just confused by the big mix of bad and very old info out there I thought it would just be better to ask people that have followed the scene

OK al give my Personal Opinion,, take it if you Like. or Not, all up to you..
Xenon es not worth the time to RGH because they give a lot of problem
you best bet will be Flash the DVD Drive with LT3.0 if it comes with a DVD Drive,,
End leave it so,, that all you can do to that console,

Dont waste your Time trying to do a RGH on Xenon.

Thanks man. It's kinda what I figured. I just wanted to make sure before I updated the dashboard and couldn't go back if something useful could be done with it. One last question. Would I be able to update the dashboard and do the dvd drive at a later point or is that blocked now with the current dashboard?

RGH1 is possible on a Xenon, but only for key recovery, and would require a dash before 2.0.14717. If you wait, the new hack that has been promised for phat xboxes I believe should work with the xenon.(dont quote me, because a r-jtag was promised for xenon, but never came out.) I would trade it in for a jasper, as they are the best as far as phat xboxes go, and install r-jtag in that. You also have the option to install CFW on the drive to play burned disks, but that requires a burner that can be flashed(IHAS rev b), Or a drive that is compatable with burnerMax payload tool, to burn the games, and an extra xbox drive flashed with 0800 firmware to rip games. either liteon or benq from a phat xbox.

Well Really dont know about the update the latest dash es 16747. But Ive never tested it with LT3.0 since all my console are RGH2,
But I think its Possible to Update your Console then Flash the DVD Drive, cant see why not..
All Phat model DVD Drive can be Flashed as long as you have X360 Pro v1 or 2 Model,
Or a compatible PCI card to read you DVD Drive Firmware.

But if you can,, it will be better to trade in that Xenon for a Jasper, 10 Times better option

Dashboard version doesnt matter for flashed firmware. the biggest issue with CFW is updating the dashboard, which to be safe requires going back to stock firmware to update the system, then reflashing the CFW after updating. This isnt required, but if the update notices the CFW, then it will record it in the SECDATA in the nand, and when microsoft does there next ban wave, your console will be banned. If you have the cpu_key, you can build a clean stock nand, and flash that back to the console, then it isnt an issue. since u dont have the cpu_key the best option is to flash back to stock before updating the console, then reflashing the CFW to the drive after the update.

Thanks guys. I purchased this on the cheap from ebay to play at most a half dozen games that I can't play on my CFW PS3 or from Steam on PC. Most of the games I wanted are bargain bin used games that I can get for under 10 bucks a piece at this point so the console's not going to get enough use to justify trading it in or anything like that. I doubt I could come up with 100 gigs of games/addons to download so not much point in doing the ****. I might do the dvd hack at some point or if xenons are supported in the next thing from team xecuter so I could download games and DLC and emulators, etc, etc. I just really wanted to double check with guys that follow the scene before updating the dashboard and shooting myself in the foot if something was available right now.
