Newb, I need help understanding this stuff.

Hi , I own a xbox , V 1.1 and want to get a x3. I have the moneyt but not sure I should risk spending it. I read and looked at all the manual install stuff. I just want to know what to do after I physically install the chip , what do I do? I hear I need to install bios. The someone else told me to go find some slayer autoprogrammer thing. I just want to know the eayest way to get this working. Do the bios come on a cd with the chip or what? Were do I get them? Please be patient with me , I am new to this stuff.

just think of it this way. If you build a computer, you need a motherboard with bios and then install winxp or linux to run programs. For Xbox, only legal bios is flashbios which functions only to flash other bioses and lock/unlock hd. Hacked bioses (illegal bioses) gives more functionality to chips (X3 in this case). Because these are illegal bioses, they must be downloaded at a special site.

Thus said, after installing your chip, you need to dl X3 hacked bios (latest version is 3029). After installing you may do lots of things but you would need something similar to Winxp which is called dashboard. Evox Slayers have dashboards, among other programs that you may find useful such as media players, etc. In summary, you need to install hacked bios first then load a dashboard, which slayers contain and more

thanks alot man, How do I get the files from my comp onto the box? Can I burn them on a cd?

You can, but it's better to network the two then transfer via FTP.

I recommend flashfxp for a ftp program, check xbox-scene.com for answers and tutorials as well as this forum. You will be very happy if you go with the x3 chip.

Hi , I own a Xbox , V 1.1 Crystal with the x3 Mod chip, Maximum HHD, LCD and slayer program. I'm not sure how to use the slayer program and options for my xbox, are there any manuals or instructions to explain the use of these things?
