Xbox broke today - w/no error code, just the multi lang screen - hummm.
Replaced the IDE cable.
Tested the 5 and 12 volt to HDD.
Still no joy...
Thinking the HDD is bad...
Now, thinking either $80 Micro$oft swap-out -or- chipping the box to use a regular HDD... But I think I need more information...
...a good start is "where should I go to talk about options".
If I'm in the wrong forum / thread - stop reading and suggest a better palce to post... otherwise (I'm thinking):
1) The HDD has died - and, if so, how can I get an image off it if / when I replace it?
2) Would chipping the Xbox get me around the problem of using a regular HDD?
3) If so, which of the several chipping options here would be the best option?
