Newbie question: Can you use a laptop SATA card for flashing

Sorry i could not look around your forums
for an answer to my question but can you
use a laptop SATA card to flash any kind
of 360 CD drive?

there's a USB > SATA converter somewhere that is suppose to work with early hitachi drives

Ok.
I was looking at laptop based cards like
this one here.
I could use the normal way too (with the controller card) but
thats a little bit out of my way so I'm trying to figure out if
a laptop based SATA card would work instead of dragging
my 360 over to my family's Dell desktop and ripping it open
so I could plug in a SATA cable. (I'm also planning to
use a Blaster 360 to do this too)

If anyone else has any other suggestions just post em'.
