Appologises for this post that will probably make all your blood boil... I have tried to help myself for the past 5 hours and now its 1.30am and I have resulted in sending this post.
Anyway, I have successfully installed an xecuter v2.6 chip (via solderless) into my V1.6b Xbox. The chip is working as expected and when I select Bank 2 and turn the Xbox on, the FlashBios 3.0.3 appears on the screen... if I select bank 1 and turn it on, nothing happens - I have read this is normal on a v1.6b?!?!
Now I have the chip installed, I need to flash the bios via the use of a CD/DVD (Preferably DVD going on other posts). I have not hooked my xbox up to my PC and therefore I need to do everything via disk, which I hope isnt too much of a problem.
It is at this point where I get totally lost... I have followed the guides as everyone recommends on here but I still dont understand what I need to do/download etc.
I have managed to log into the xbins FTP server but I do not have any idea bios I need and where it is held in the FTP server. I have made a 100mb dummy file which is named Dummy.bin but as for the bios file (which I know needs to be changed to bios.bin), I assume I just use the .BIN file in the correct downloaded Zip file and rename it?
Once I have flashed the Bios, I understand from reading these forums that I need to install a dashboard... what is the best one? I have heard of Evolution-X alot when looking about on here. How do I go about installing the dashboard (after chipping) via a CD/DVD? I wasnt able to find much information on this part.
I know its a long post, but I hope someone is able to point me in the right direction.
