Hi...newbie here just joined awhile ago...i have a modded xbox 360 and i was wondering if xbox update would screw up my machine. i dont connect it to xbox live cause im afraid it would brick the machine if i updated and i dont plan on going online. i just want it updated, i read somewhere that i could also update through cd (download the update on xbox.com and burning the updates) i was wondering if updating through cd is safe and is it a recommended way to update...

you're help would really be appreciated...i don't get much tech support here.

one more question do i really need to update my 360? or is it just a waste of time?

thanks again...

no none updates so far have done anything as long as you have newer fw that copies drive version but if you get afraid goto xbox-scene.com if you see a new update it will say if they were sucessful :)

This is a personal preference in my mind, but anytime you do an update it is possible to screw with any firmware mods you may have done. Like the prev. post said, you can watch xboxscene to see if updates effect fw. Has not been a problem as of yet on the 360, but you never know

In all likelyhood, you will not have a bricked system. You will be banned from live, and that is likely all. They didnt brick any systems with the xbox1.
