Newcomer question, please help.

Hi, i just bought a Xecuter XE PRO for my swtich,it didn't arrive yet. My switch is i. 10.0.4, but last night it downloaded the new update (10.1.0) but it's not installed. Every time i open a application it ask if i want to install the update, i keep saindo no. My plan is to instal sx os. So my question is: is i keep saying no, until the XE PRO arrive, i will be able to install it normally, because I'll have 10.0.4, or the downloaded update will give me a problem?

Or should i just update and then try to hack?
