Hey all, I finally got my Korean 360 Jtag'd and have installed Xellous and the latest Freestyle dash but the problem is is that my DVD drive now doesn't want to operate properly. If I press eject or open tray the middle light blinks for a while on the power button and I can hear a quiet kind of clicking sound coming from the drive but it refuses to open! I checked and checked again and both the CPU&DVD key were reported fine and the DVD key was the same as a dump I took in Jungleflasher.
I built the original freeboot image with Coolshrimps Jtag tool and checked it in 360 flash dump tool and it all reported fine in there with the DVD key etc showing up fine on the right of the window. Apart from that everything was done according to numerous tutorials so should be fine although i'm obviously missing something somewhere! Any ideas anyone with Jtag knowledge?
Also, in 360 JTAG dump tool there's a section regarding the region, is there any way to make my 360 either region free or Devkit? As the 360 is being used in the UK i'd rather it at least be PAL region so that I don't have to mess about so much with ISO2GOD etc just to get the games I want to work although I don't mind doing this but making it PAL/RF or devkit would be ideal.
Any help finding out what my DVD drive issue is will be appreciated and any advice on changing the consoles region would be a bonus.
Thanks all

you have an old drive
this happens all the time
when you hear the "click" give the xbox a tap on the top

from that point on, keep a disc in the tray, it will eject with no problems

or get a new rubber band for the eject mechanism

Option B would be to get a newer drive and get the keys off of the mobo, or just dump and flash.

Option C would be to just throw your old drive out and don't look back. Rip all your games onto your computer and into GOD files, transfer to a USB external hard drive and play them off of it. No disc required.

what model is your drive? sound like a samsung that is sticking? if so just replace or clean the rubberband that is on the eject motor at the front of the drive.

It's still sticking every now and then, tried tapping it a few times, banging even and that didn't work so cleaned the rubber band on an alcohol swab and now it's semi sticking! Looking into larger hard drives and got problems there now but i'm opening another thread for that!
