Next step?

I have flashed my iHAS124-04 Rev B. That is ready to go.

Right now, I have my DVD drive (VAD6038) plugged up to my computer via x360USB Pro v2.

Now then, when I eject the drive and put in Mirrors Edge (don't judge) my computer fails to recognize that there is a new disc.

*extra info*
The WINAPI light is lit up and the PORTIO light is not. The blue light is on near the Mode B / Eject button. The power switch is to the left with a green light beside it.

...and there is an orange light beside the Auto Manual section.

Maybe I missed a step 5 steps ago? Maybe I'm missing something simple. I'm just trying to make a backup of Mirrors Edge. :(

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

USBPro doesn't need portio. I believe on the last tab of XBC, you need to select the corresponding drive and provide the key if I read a tutorial correctly. I could be mistaken as I use 0800 and Pro v1.

I have XBC up and going now. Under the drop down menu for available drives, my VAD6038 does not show up.

Also, when I double click my (J:) drive, I receive a Microsoft Windows notification that says "An error occurred while ejecting 'DVD RW Drive (J:)'. With this error comes an Insert Disc message. "Please insert a disc into drive J:.

This being said, I don't feel like my DVD drive is being properly recognized by my computer. I'm running Windows 64-bit but I'm really hoping this isn't the issue.

All help is appreciated. This process is far more tedious than I had expected. :(

Are you using Backup creator? If so I believe you need to power cycle the drive with the tray half ejected before it will recognize the drive. Try that first.
What method would you recommend for doing this? I don't like taking chances with this kinda' stuff. I'm a step-by-step perfectionist.

Does your drive become recognized in jungleflasher? Maybe its a bad flash. Also are you running xbc as administrator? Maybe you could try running in compatibility mode as well. I run 64 bit too and alot of programs require running in compatibility mode as well.

Well, I have boiled it down to a driver issue. I manually deleted and re-installed all of the drivers for them except for one.

What I am missing is the 'serenum.sys' file for the Xecuter CK3i USB Controller.

Though, I'm REALLY not sure what to do about this. Maybe I should create a new thread for this question? *(New to the forum scene)*

**EDIT**
I copied the serenum.sys file from my laptop and placed it in the proper directories.

Going back to the drawing board now. You guys are amazing. Thank you for your help.
Will return with more questions I am sure. lol.

Is it that the serenum.sys file is missing from your pc or that windows won't launch the file is not digitaly signed. If it is because the driver is not signed reboot your pc and press f8 on start up and select 'driver signature disable enforcement'.

I'm assuming you have the switches set correctly for this on the x360USBPro v2?

Yes sir. I have that window tabbed as well as bookmarked. Haha.

I'm back at step one with this though.

My computer does not seem to recognize my DVD drive (VAD6038, as previously mentioned) which is leading me to problems down the road.

I need to figure out step I missed. When I hit the eject button on the x360USB Pro v2 it ejects the tray. However, when I pop the game in the computer never recognizes it. In theory, I should be able to browse the content of the game when I put it in. My computer is not allowing this at the moment.

Are you sure the update switch is in the correct position? I believe it should be in the off position.

I think I answered my own question again.

I did not have JungleFlasher downloaded on my PC. I had it downloaded on my laptop but not on the desktop. So, now that my computer has successfully recognized my DVD Drive, let us continue.

More updates when I return.
