RROD and I tried to fix

So I got the Red Rings and I panicked. I went online and found out about the method of taking off the heatsinks, cleaning them and putting them back on with new thermal paste. The guide also mentions intentional overheating which I avoided. My xbox booted up for like ten minutes and red ring again. Would I fix things by letting it overheat?

Re: RROD and I tried to fix

The overheating is meant to reheat the solder for a better connection. It is a very important step. Also if you apply to much paste it will overheat and rrod again. You want a VERY thin layer and do not over tighten the bolts. it will cause the board to warp and that could also lead to problems. There are two methods to the overheating. 1.) unplug the fan and turn on for a few miutes. 2.) heatgun. I prefer the heat gun because you focus on the only part of the board you need to rather than getting everything overheated.
