JASPER No Alt QSB - Is that a problem? How do I continue?

So everything finally arrived
I started soldering by the guide at the top of this section

Then I noticed there wasn't an Alt QSB in my kit.. only have the small NAND-X and the JRP/NANDX/CR v3 one

What I have:
CR4 XL
JR-Programmer v2
Phat QSB Kit v3 (NAND-X and JRP/NANDX/CR QSB v3)

I'm new at all this, how do I proceed now? Do I have to get myself that Alt one?

U could use the cr4 rgh2+ method or use the cr4 r-jtag and use wire install with the diode aud clamp method.

Can I use any diode? I've read bat41 diodes are good for this but I don't know where to get them besides the internet

There are different methods but I use 1N4148 switching diodes and never had a problem.

u could always use the rgh2+ method. This doesnt need the jtag side for it to work.

I don't want to make a new topic for this, just a quick question

No matter what I do, my soldering on the circuit board doesn't stick (Not sure if it's the right word)
I use flux, one for electronic parts but it's not sticking on the board

Am I using the wrong flux?

What soldering iron are you using? Maybe it's not hot enough.I had similar problem with cheap Chinese soldering iron. I bought soldering station with adjustable temperature and it solved my problem.

I would try replacing the tip before increasing the temp. Chances are the tip is too small to allow proper heat transfer to keep the solder molten. So rather than higher temp, usually the answer is a bigger tip. And yes, that is what she said.

Hey, it's not the size of the tip that matters, its how you use it! Or if you need a different tip, talk to Oggy about his monster supply. Oh wait, this thread was about soldering irons...perhaps I've said too much. :facepalm:
