okay here's the problem the console will not glitch into FSD 3 with my external usb drive connected (2tb) if i unhook the drive and power it on after into FSD everything works.

I tired waiting for about 15 minutes to see if was a glitch time thing. no joy

I had a service rgh the console for me as I simply dont have the patience to do it. I do not know if dashlaunch or xex or anything else like that are installed.

it has an internal 60g hdd the FSD is installed on, but I want to use the larger external for content storage.

I have searched and can't find an answer for this question; can someone answer it or point me in the right direction please?

Will the console not glitch or won't it launch into fsd when connected? If u are trying to get the console to boot into fsd with the external plugged in go to your hdd root and copy the launch.ini file over to your external hard drive

You try formatting the external HDD?
Why ask this question? This is bad advice and some noobs will actually format the drive and come back asking how to access their games-please understand the problem before launching into these extreme measures. OP never complained about accessing data so one has to assume the drive was formatted as fat32

have tried something like that..

1st if you want games on your external drive it have to be fat32 thats the only format that the xbox can read.. and remember you have to unpack your iso files to files and folders you can do that wiat mp360gui..

2nd using the usb on the front the lowest works for me every time, try that and then come back and tell us the results :)

1st if your FSD is working without Ext HDD connected ...then wats the issue just switch on the xbox and connect the usb in...
because if my kids want to play or use it they cant. or they will leave it plugged in and complain that it doesnt start up.

also its just a pain to have to do it every time, I just want it to be able to turn it on and after it glitches use it.

also the external hdd is formatted in fat32, the games are unpacked into folders etc. everything works after FSD is launched and i connect the usb drive and wait until the console sees it.

i will try copying the launch.ini over to the root of the external and see what happens, i suspect from what little i understand that this will fix it.

yes the game paths are set correctly, however, i realized that with a usb stick inserted i needed to have two different scan paths, no big deal; as the usb drive numbers changed.

i added the launch.ini to the root of the external hdd and everything seems to work perfectly. thanks for the help

edit okay after about starting it up five or six times; slightly longer to glitch in to FSD but it works perfectly

Thanks for thread, my xbox started doing the same after updates of dashboard, dashlaunch and FSD I made yesterday. Before that there was no need of lauch.ini file on my external HDD. I will try to copy my launch.ini file to external HDD today and I hope it will work. Now I noticed that xbox created launch.ini file on ext hdd with this text in it:

[Settings]
noupdater = false

so it could conceive me to use fsd launch file.... :)

Hi, So I have the same problem. Where do you plug the HDD in? In the front or the back to make it work? And where to the HDD do you copy launch.ini?

Oh ok, will this help? And do I need to plug it in the front?

Edit: Does the HDD need to be configured with Xbox?
