Hi,
I have a jasper 16MB board (according to the memory info). I performed the 'read nand' twice and created the .ecc file... with the CPU key and the original nand I have created a nandflash.bin file...(using 360 multibuider). after writing it back...and turning the console on, a blank screen appears and the green led remain blinking....

Please help.....I have on idea what to do...

Since you booted Xell to get CPU key I would say your CoolRunner/RGH install and soldering is good.

Does the XBOX boot Xell (DVD Eject), if not, when it did boot, how long did it take?
If you leave the XBOX booting (Green LED on CoolRunner blinking) will it eventually boot to dashboard?

NOTE:
If you are using a CoolRunner Rev B make sure to solder the CAP point.

If not a Rev B, you will likely need to install some 68nF capacitors on Ground/PLL and one on RST to get it booting fast.

if I leave my xbox blinking after 5 min the upper left red led start to blink..... and no, no dashboard is coming up..

yes, I am using the coolrunner rev B....I had installed the capacitor to the GND and PLL and not to the cap point(??)........ attached pic

Thanks..

Remove the cap you soldered and bridge the two pads where it says "CAP".
Yes, do this. If it doesn't boot after that put the cap that you installed on PLL/Ground and put it in-line on RST between the CoolRunner pad and the RST wire.

If it doesn't boot after above it is probably a bad image so if you want to upload a copy of your original NAND along with your CPU Key in a zip file somewhere and send me the link to download it. I will create the FB image for you to flash.

Probably a good time to stop suggesting in-line caps, especially 68nF.

OP - when we talk about green light flashing, we mean on the CR. Ignore the light on the Xbox.

Correct me if I am wrong but weren't you the one who discovered and recommended the in-line cap on RST for problematic Jaspers?

Works great for me on Jaspers using first-ship CoolRunners as I bought 50 of them. Haven't tried REV B yet but I have some. I was under the impression the REV B cap point was only for PLL/Ground?

Yes, however 68nF caps are now flying all over the shop and my original setup using a 470pF cap is now being subbed by much higher values. With in-line signals, not a good idea.

For confirmation though, the consoles I have got running with 470pF in-line are still happily up and running!

Just for my own knowledge, what exactly is the issue with in-line 68nF on RST? I have used this setup for troublesome Jaspers since the whole Jasper/Capacitor situation arose around CR launch and I have done dozens of Jaspers since and not seen or heard of any negative effect.

I have had to use 1 or 2 68nF on PLL/Ground (mostly 1) just to get a Jasper to boot, and 68nF in-line RST to get instant boots.

The cap can build up too much voltage and release down the line. I've not had a problem with them either - I've just seen on other forums that it can cause issues.

Thanks for the replays...
I have removed the capacitor from GND/PLL and bridged the CAP pads..the same problem repeats. I also soldered the cap in-line from the RST (on coolrunner) and the blue wire...nothing changed.

I want to repeat the problem, after flashing the nandflash back to the xbox, the xbox in not booting...the coolrunner green led flash only once in the beginning!!! on the xbox the green led keeps flashing.

I have attached the original nand read and the cpu key...

Stop talking about the green light on the front of the xbox. It's of no consequence whatsoever!

Does your console still boot to XeLL with the eject button?

Your nand looks OK however I did notice one thing that has been known to cause issues. When you started the RGH process you forgot to update the console to one of the newer dashboards 13604/14699. Normally this wouldn't have to be an exact match however your XBOX is on dash 12625 which is about a year old now and has a negative effect when building the FreeBOOT, specifically the LDV if I am not mistaken. I helped another TX Forum Member who's Jasper would not boot and it was because the XBOX was not updated before creating the new glitch image. Once updated the issue was resolve so I am confident that this is your problem.

Here's what you need to do. Flash the stock NAND using NANDX, boot the XBOX, update to 14699 USB, dump 2-4 nands, compare nands, then re-create your FreeBOOT using 360 Multi Builder.

This should solve your dash boot problem.

I've NEVER had a problem with consoles being on earlier dash versions. I've successfully RGH'd phat and slim consoles on 9199 for example.

Try this.

Run your nand dump through multi-builder and create a retail nand from it. Use this new nand to build an RGH NAND. Flash to the console.
