i have just installed a x3 and the chip led is on but the front pannel is off can you help me.thanks ...bozzy...

check the connection wires from the chip to the external switch. Make sure they're all connected properly and not damaged.

I'm pretty new to working on Xbox's. This just started doing the open tray, it just makes a little noise and then says open tray.
It's a BenQ drive. The laser does light up and I cleaned it twice. I've fooled around with the pot adjustment a little bit and make sure the laser slides freely. After hours of working and reading, no luck.
I'm thinking about just buying another BenQ drive and swapping them out. I know about swapping the keys and such, but I'm wondering what I'll need so that my computer will recongnize the drive.
My motherboard is a EP45-UD3R. It has E-SATA and I'm pretty sure the controller is jmicron.
I just want to fix this 360, I'm not trying to mod it in any way.
