No..not possible the format for a PC HDD is completely different from that in the xbox.
They are not cross compatible.

or if you have a buddy with a modded xbox, unlock your hd on your xbox, install it on your friend and ftp in the bios, reinstall it on your xbox and your good for flash.

even if you get yor bios flash, you need to ftp everything else like emulators and apps. You should just get at least a crossover cable and a good ftp program such as fxp.

if you can plug the crossover cable into it, then it is good enough

Not sure if the ISA refers to an ISA card or not, depending on your PC's age, you may or may not have an ISA slot, my bet is that you don't. Like everyone has suggested, you can pickup a cheap crossover cable and a new or used NIC card for about $20 in total.

correction: if you can plug the crossover cable into it and it works with your computer, then it is good enough lol

...NIC card? i have an ethernet card that's used for a broadband cable...
so im good 'cause the plug of a crossover cable's similar to the plug of the broadband cable?

NIC (Network Interface Card) / Ethernet card... they are the same thing...and thats what u have with the 3 Com

However if u use this for broadband then u may want to invest in another additional NIC and then u can set up ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)...that way u dont need to keep changing ip settings on the one interface and u can set up the xbox/pc to gateway such things as news feeds/media streams and xlink kai for gaming

I agree... get a router instead of a 2nd NIC. It just makes more sense.

Oh yeah, get a Catalyst 3750.

It's a layer 3 switch that supports stacking. Very nice for only $7,500!

What a bargin!!
