No Copper Around D0

I've accidently removed all the copper from around the top D0 hole on my ver 1.1 xbox by using a safety pin to clear the hole. There is a little bit of copper left that I can see at the end of the trace. My Xbox now Frags with no chip and with a chip on. Will running a wire from the top d0 to the bottom d0 correct this problem?

How good are you at soldering?

You can probably repair this by using a little kynar wire pretinned and inserted into the d0 hole. Heat the wire and it should solder to the remains of the d0 ring (that goes through the board). solder the other end to the remains of the d0 trace. You may need to use a fibreglass pen to expose more of the d0 trace but it's perfectly do-able - I fixed an Xbox d0 trace in exactly the same way.

Thanks for the replies, my soldering is ok, but I don't want to attempt the top D0, the copper trace is to close to the hole. I've got a buddy that should be able to do it. As for the other reply, what the heck is that? Need more info.

Thanks all,

K, I've made some progress. I took a 32 awg wire and stuck the end in the D0 hole and angled it to touch the copper exposed in the trace. Xbox boots to xbox screen. Now, the next step is to fix that little missing trace, to close to solder for me, I can't get the solder to stick, 15 W iron pen and .22 solder. Off to bed, try again tomorrow.

im having the same problem, i took the d0 connection off to make it a little bit cleaner and ended up pulling the d0 point on the board. how can i get solder or wire to stay on the board securely?

yeah, I'm pretty much replying to this in hopes that someone will answer, as I have the exact same problem.. and I heard from the llamas site, that running another wire from one terminal of the D0 trace to the other will also work... any confirmation?

I used rear defroster repair kit, masked the trace and painted it.

My xbox booted! :) I then soldered my chip onto the board and I'm back in business, thanks everyone.

Modding a Xbox 360 Elite

As I finished researching on how to mod an Xbox 360, something crossed my mind. Is modding the Xbox 360 same as modding the Xbox 360 Elite? Please help! :(

Re: Modding a Xbox 360 Elite

the only difference between an elite and normal console is the colour and size of hdd it is sold with
the insides are the same
you just need to check which drive it comes with

Yep, no difference between the elite and the normal 360. I have modded both successfully!
