i have a kinda not recommended fix but its the only way i can get it to work.
Make you boot disk with XBM or Iprep detecting your sata card.
Boot into you disk and get to the prompt.
Next boot your xbox with your sata cable disconnected from your pci sata card. once xbox is booted plug your sata cable in. if you have a pci via vt6421 card use the port closest to the front of your pc. i used XBM so
dsam xxxxxxx xxxxx it said no disk first then i pressed enter and it detected it. hope this helps!!
