Now we've gotten that out of the way, do the same thing but this time send the vendor intro.

Ok here is the spoon. It wont open because of a blank/partial write so just hook up drive select correct port (nothing will show) then just lo erase. This will put back into vendor mode. Then re-write

I wasn't ban evading, I forgot the password to my other account, requested it, and they sent me the info for this account that I forgot I had made awhile back...and thanks for the reply mm I will keep that in mind...I have already switched to another pcb and got the drive working but it's good to know I'm going to try that now.

i think it's burnt out...wouldn't it still eject with a partial write

Check the VRs on the PCB. Even worth seeing if the chip gets hot when you plug in the Power.

Drive functions will only work if the firmware is complete.

I'm really hoping he actually tried a vendor intro after the erase....

I did the power cycle!!!! and it didn't work, and i tried a regular vendor intro and no cigar..

I have voltage on the contact points, i really think the chip is burnt...it's a bit warm but not smoking hot like when they have burned out before

eh it's not that important, I'm just going to trash this pcb, I had the firmware from the last time I flashed it and have plenty more so no big deal...thanks for the help though

I suppose the best question here would be 'why are you trying to repair it'? What's the history of these boards?

it was important because I thought it was my usb pro or something...now that I see that it was the pcb's and my equipment is ok it's not important. and i'm trying to repair it only because you were still giving advice and i was still kind of interested to see if it would work.
