I have read the tutorial and tried pk's suggestions, but i still cannot get my drive to come up, im using the iprep method and i have a via 6421 pci sata controller, I did get a cheaper one off of ebay could that be the problem please help

Yes, it boots up on the usb flash drive no problem i get the C: i type in idump XXXXXX XXXXX x=serial number on the back of xbox360 says drive not found i am using the internal sata port. Sata port is recognized when i create the iprep, i have done what the tut says to the letter. The only thing i can think of is to try a different sata controller. The drive is a samsung ms28. Please help. Thank you in advance.

I am having the exact same problem. No drive detected after the idump command. I tried both a 6421 pci card and the on-board ICH7 controller (after recreating the USB drive of course.)

I tried different sata cables (in case one might have been bad) and tried different times for when I connected the cable to the computer. I am following the textbook tut using a blaster360.

I dont know would it make a difference if i was to use xbm instead of iprep.

no iprep is the best one to use.
this is the hardest part,getting your computer to see your drive
different cable just keep messing with it.im sorry i cant tell yoiu more.
when i was having trouble it was the cable.maybe try the card in another computer.make sure all the other drives are unplugged.

found a sata port on the card i did not see before the box it came in even said ther was only 2 anyways it was the closest one to the front of the pc just like the tut says got the drive flashed it seems to have worked plays games fine i thik the back up copy of a game i made was burnt wrong cause it just says open tray

I guess I'll just keep trying different ports, cables etc.

I do have everything else disconnected when trying to flash. I tried changing some bios settings as well, but still no luck.

You might try pk's tutorial maybe that will help you good luck

im just going over things to try and help,let me walk through it.
load the firmware
put a check buy force device
put a check buy custom serial ata
click list scsi based controllers(it will put # in the 2 blanks)
pick your target drive
put a check in format drive
click do it

just trying to make sure you have not forgot something.

Yes, that's how I'm setting up the USB.

I tried pk's without any luck. I'm going to try putting the SATA card into another desktop to see if that helps anything.

good idea try a different computer.try a different pci slot.try a new sata cable. try every thing.
