JTAG No DVD Drive

I have a few 360 consoles that for various reasons have no dvd drive and I do not have the key for these units. Are they just paper weights or can I jtag them and somehow use them again? I have ready conflicting opinions on using xell to recover the key and if it is possible to get it installed in the first place without a valid key. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can load games via hdd. You don't need a dvd drive. When you glitch your xbox. You will get your dvd and cpu key. You could dump your dvd key into a drive if you wanted to

To JTAG a console, it MUST be running a dashboard of 7371 or lower. The materials used here are pretty inexpensive.

If the console is on a more up-to-date dashboard, you can recover the DVD key by using the RGH (Costs about $75-$100 depending on what you use). This method will only work with HDMI consoles. If you have a xenon with a lost DVD key, it is probably done forever!

In addition, the RGH requires extra hardware to work. If you leave the hardware in, it acts almost exactly the same way as a JTAG. If you chose to remove the hardware, you can use the hack to pull the DVD key, then 'un-hack it' and put the DVD key onto the proper drive and have a working console!
