Hi guys - I recently bought an XBox and a Xecutor3 chip...
I installed the chip after the guidelines from the noob-guide - Doubble checked the whole thing with my mutimeter - and found that i made a succesfull mounting of the whole thing "to the letter"...
Unfortunately, the XBox doesent show the FlashBIOS screen when booting - and didnt do so the first time i booted it. How do i get this to work ?
Allso, there's no light in the DIMM-Switch panel at all :-(

And oh... I've set the FlashBIOS protection on "off"... and im an ICT-Engineer, so my mounting shouldnt be the problem

Respectfully

The switch not powering up could be a connection problem between the chip and switch unit.

Try switching the Xbox on with the EJECT button to see if there's any difference.

Also, what version Xbox have you got?

I'll try the Power-on with the eject botton, I'll get back to you on that one when i get it assembled again.

I've got a V1.6 Xbox - I found out after taking a "test" from another forum.

If you have a 1.6 you need the cromwell 3.03 flash bios in order to see the tv screen as it has support for the video chip in your xbox.

Ok, i just reassembled the Box with the chip. It's still not working, nor with the Eject-botton. Again, there's still no light in the DIMM-Switch panel - nor the LAN or HD diodes.

Could that be the reason that i cannot get the FlachBIOS screen ?

Pardon all the troubble, but I've never done this kind of mod-chip thingy before. And Im kinda frustrated that it's not working the way it's supposed

Are both the leds on the chip on? both have to be on for the chip to work. Does the box boot normally with the chip not installed? You don't need the hdd led or the lan led to be on for the chip to work. Check the plug sockets on the switch daughter board for bent pins, hell checkem all just to rule that out. If everything is connected correctly you should have power to the switch panel.

If we can narrow down 'not working'...

Do you see anything on screen, or does the Xbox boot like there's no chip at all?

Ok, sorry about the delay - havnt been home the entire weekend.

Fortunately, the Xbox still works like nothing happened. It boots up normally, as if i just opened the box. BUT, it have no indication at all, that there should be a mod-chip installed. There are no bent pins, every solder are working fine (tested them with my multimetre).

I've put the dim-switch at OFF ON OFF OFF OFF - But still no indication of any kind of mod-chip.

Yes, I have the red power cable connected - And the chip have got a blue diode thats on when i turn on the X-Box.

I've tested the power issue, disconnecting the power cable, wich resulted in the diode on the chip not glowing - So it seems like the Chip's getting power.

There should be TWO LEDS on the chip. One for the 3.3v and one for the 5v.

If you're only getting one light then you've got a bad solder joint somewhere.
