no FRAGG but orange light on after 30 secs

I've just carried out my second install on a V1.6 box and i have a problem I haven't read about. boot into M$ dash and everything works fine, try to boot into X3 to load flash bios and it starts up no FRAGGING but no video either, then after about 30 seconds the LED turns orange and stays orange, it doesn't flash it's constant. I haven't managed to get to the flash bios screen yet so I don't think its the pin 13/14 fault but just incase I touched them up and checked my other points as well. I'm going to continue searching but any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

check your LPC rebuild ... is this XBox one of the new (b) versions ?
non samsung ram ?

I have found a solution. It would appear that this is a V1.6b mobo. as I bought the MOBO of ebay to replace a fried one I didn't think it would be that late but it is so here is how I solved it. I removed my X3 from my crystal V1.6 and plugged it into the new install no resoldering just a straight swap and hey prestow, worked straight away. So I plugged the new X3 into my crystal, boot up and Ftp the latest 1959 Bios to the new chip, replaced chip into new install and sucess. looks like the chip I had wouldn't work with the V1.6b, luckily I had another Xbox to flash the chip with. Not sure what I would have done if I didn't have another modded Xbox maybe someone could post a solution if there isn't one all ready. I hope this helps someone who is having the same problems.

Hi again,
make sure you update the BACKUP BIOS also !

Use FlashBios Version 3.0.3 or newer ..
the new FlasBios is compatible with the 1.6(b) version
.. just to make sure you have a working backup for the worst case !

Ahh this looks like the problem I have. But my problem is that I dont have any other X3 boxes to swap and flash it with.

Any solution to flashing old X3 bios to new Flashbios version supporting 1.6b?

Looks like I have a 1.6 not a 1.6b (got samsung ram), but I still have exactly the same problem as you have. Ive resolder the chip 6x times now, cleaned used flux... etc etc..... but always end up with the same problem as you did have.

Anyone have any solution to this??

Samsung Ram in crystal xbox with Xcalibur chip, is it 1.6 or 1.6b? just asking to be sure

Xecuter team have any solution to how to update old Flashbios chips in 1.6b boxes? I cant find any information about it.

I have the same exact problem with a 1.6b xbox I am trying to mod. After the mod, it boots into the Xbox dash just fine. But when trying to boot from the X3 bios, I get a blank screen. The main Xbox LED goes from a solid green to a solid amber after about 30secs.

This X3 did not come with the new LPC rebuild pcb board. So, it might have an older flash bios version that is possibly not compatible with the newer Xbox 1.6b version.

I will use 1.0 Xbox to flash this X3 modchip and reinsert to see if that is indeed the problem.
