No front pannel LED's

ok... just installed on a 1.6b no troubles... but the front control pannel wont light up... the chip lights up... and yes LPC was rebuilt using alt 5v... butinm wondering Y it's not lighting up... suggestions?

oh.. noticed one thing... one of the LED's arent lighting up.. the one near the alt 5v.

3.3V led

3.3V is supplied on pin 15 and bridged to pin 9...check your soldering on these two points....

Pin 15 is a bit more diffcult make sure the solder flows right into the hole


Clear off existing solder, wet the iron tip (apply just a little solder) ...apply iron tip to touch both pin and solder pad and apply fresh solder to the pin...u should see it suck down the hole.

ok.. I checked with a multimeter... and for some reason I get nothing from Pin 15... nut i get 3.3 from the pin 13?!

No u must have 3.3V on pin 15...like i said it's trickier to solder right...
The supply rail is on the component side of the board from a capacitor directly above pin 15 ...

pin 13 is not a supply rail ...it contains data ...so probably clocking between 5V and 0...if u had a scope u would see it.


Definately fix pin 15 and all will be good (2 x blue lights)

ok... got it booting now... well kinda... I got both LED's running... but when the chip enables I get no vid..... I get the orange LED in the front meaning the cromwell is working... but it's not showing video... not sure aboutthe audio cause i got no speakers raight now.... but no vid for sure...

not sure which orange light you mean...(lan led ???)...

Check boot from backup (pwr & reset together) get a purple X
also check booting form other 1M bank (5678) off,on,off,off,off.

It may be that you will find a cromwell bios to boot up.

nope... backup bios doesent boot either... I got a 1.6 with sammy ram... but man WTF!!?! no video?!! i dont get it.... anyone? or sb122606 youve been great help man..

ok... I installed it in my 1.0 with wire install (yes i know wire... but im\ dont have a spare header...) but anyways no video... so.... what did i do wrong? I mean i KNOW I have 100% contact on 13-14 with my 1.0 considering there is a wire in there...lol anyways all help is great!
