No game name when backing-up games

I used to be able to back-up my games with no problem, but then I got
these new games for xmas that I wanted to back-up and I noticed that
that the game's name wasn't showing at the bottom of the list as it did
before when I selected the copy from dvd option, if I continue with the copy process, it goes through the copy motions and everythig, but when is done copying I get this message: "no game set in xbe file". The game seems to be copied ok, but if I try to copy another game the later overwrites the previous one.

Any ideas?

The box is moded with Xecuter 3 and the dashboard is Avalaunch.

I assume you are talking about in DVD2XBOX? Either way, I haven't seen this before. Of course I have only backed up one of my games to my HDD right now (HEY... I STILL HAVE THE STOCK HDD ALRIGHT?! :lol

He isn't saying he needs an HDD fix I don't think. He is saying that DVD2XBOX isn't working, it isn't getting a game name when it copies, and therefore is overwriting the previously copied game each time it copies a new one. Am I right?

You are right (AJerman), except for one thing: I'm using Hdd loader instead of DVD2BOX.

I had a similar problem with DVD2XBOX where it didn’t name the folder the game was being put into, but with DVD2XBOX you can name the folder whatever you want by choosing change directory.

Ok, I installed DVD2XBOX yesterday and tried to copy a game with no
success, I'm not sure if I installed all the necesary files, because when
I went to the site to get it, I found a folder called "DVD2XBOX" and
within that folder there was a bunch of other files, so I got the latest
DVD2XBOX.RAR and installed to my apps. folder, now when I launch
this program it goes to the motions of copying and everything but nothing
is writting on the HD.
In case that I get this (dvd2xbox) to work... How can I change it to be
my default program when I select copy dvd option? right now it defaults
to HDD Loader.

you need to edit the avalaunch .ini file. It will be where ever your avalaunch dashboard is installed. Just look for the place where it lists everything in the menu (should be near the middle-bottom) and change the path of the copy dvd item. You will probably just have to change part of the path. So, here is an example.

use xbcopy to copy the games!!!!!!!!!!!
