COOLRUNNER No green light.

Ive put it in program and normal mode but no green light. This is probably a noob error by me but is this normal.

Thanks for the help. But I replaced c14 on the board and when i try to program it i get solid red light and it cant find the coolrunner.

I saw your other thread about C14. You need to replace the capacitor with a voltage value that is equal to or higher than the capacitor that was there in the first place. You may have also bridged the pads where C14 resides (underneath the cap).

Might have to look for a replacement Coolrunner or wait for CR4.

ETA: The capacitance value (rated in Farads) must be EQUAL to the original part. You can get away with slightly higher or lower capacitance values to test, but it is not recommended.

I replaced it with a 10uf 16v exactly what its rated at and i double checked the pads but thanks for the help. When the cr4 comes out ill get one when will it?

I don't know when the CR4 will be available, but it can't be that much longer. :)

Maybe you killed the cap with too much heat? I dunno. Have you tried taking readings (off & while powering on) with a multimeter? What kind of voltage are you getting before and after the cap in question?
