Hi. It's my first post so i'm sorry for my bad english and for being a noob

I have a xbox 360 with a liteon 74850. About a year ago i updated from ixtreme to lt firmware without knowing i needed to save the files and the key from my drive :(

Yesterday i tried to go back to stock firmware so i could update my dashboard and flash it back to the newest firmware available using jungle flash but i didn't have the key... I tried to find some tutorials to get it back and found one using DOSflasher (i'm sure you know this program).

In DOSflasher i selected the option "LiteOn key" and selected "read the key".. i got an error "fail to get the key" (or something like that). When i was trying to make a second atempt, i selected by mistake the option "erase liteon"!!! when i clicked, it erase my drive (whatever it does).

Now my drive isn't recognised by DOSflasher or even by jungleflasher... Worst, i turn on my xbox and the power led keeps on flashing and the dvd drive don't give any sign even when i push the "eject" botton..

So... what are my options right now? Any help? I feel so dumb right now :frown:

got windows xp, sata ports are from the nforce3 chipset, xbox arcade (jasper).

the reset glitch hack is your only hope now

you have deleted your key , and doing that is the ONLY way to get it back

yeah...it's gone - unfortunately you have erased the firmware on the drive including your key....it's now completely blank.....
You will have to either do the reset glitch hack or get someone to do it for you (recommended) to retrieve the key

I'm sure I read a thread from Dale saying he flashed the wrong key to a drive (deliberately) and updated the dashboard and the update flashed the drive with the correct key...

I'll look around and post back if I find it :)

yeah - just r-read the thread.....seems to have worked for various people on different drives/consoles....
so....OP - flash stock firmware to your drive with a donor key (any key I'm guessing), then do the update via USB - as sp4rkst4rt3r says - nothing to lose

Hi,

First, I am sorry for my bad english, I am from Austria. ;)

I have a similar problem.
I have a LiteOn drive that is not working because of a bad flash and i also lost the key.
But I didn't need this drive till know because I took the older flashed Hitachi drive from my older and destroyed box and used it in the newer box.

But now with the dashboard update I need a LiteOn drive, so I can update!
So I read this post from diaboliq20 where it should be possible to use just any original key.
I just don't get how it could be done? In the thread he is talking about a dvd player?

Is there maybe an easier solution for my specific problem?

greets

That is not the case by the sounds of things.

If the current drive that you have in your 360 (The Hitachi) is working with your originals and backups.

All you have to do, is to transfer the key from the hitachi to the broken lite-on. (Doesn't matter if it's broken) and update.

Once the update is finished, just replace the drive back in again.

In some cases, if you have completed lost the key, all you can do is use the 360 as a DVD player, but with the new glitch Hack, Nearly all 360's can have their DVD key retrieved.

So all is not lost.

So long as you have the lite-on in when you update and then put your spoofed drive back in after, all should be okay

It sounds really easy when you say it :D

I have this CK3 Pro, but didn't use like 2 years or so...
I also downloaded the jungleflasher tutorial and read it. ( Don't really know where I have to start )
But I don't wanna mess up my Hitachi drive!
Don't I have to use something like Dosflash to activate my LiteOn again? ( It doesn't even open the tray)

Thank you all for your help!

Now, my drive isn't recognised by jungleflasher of DOSflasher. How do i make my computer recognise the dvd driver?

Then, how do i get a key or something from another liteon drive? :S I don't know how i can do it. Can you give me a tip on how can i download and use one?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry i didn't understand the question :( I didn't save anyting.

And how do i make jungleflasher recognise the drive? The "eject" button doesn't do anything so i can't use "the half tray open method". Any help?

edit- i downloaded the last version of jungleflasher and didn't find that jobs file. do i have to download it apart?

Did you save dummy.bin? If so, open that in JungleFlasher and check that it contains the key. Once done, run Lite-On erase on the drive to Intro it then you can write new firmware.

Open JungleFlasher and click Open KeyDB, see if your drive and drive key is listed there. If it's not, you may have to use the Reset Glitch in order to get your drive key.
When i opened the KeyDB there's nothing listed and, once again, my drive isn't recognised :( i can't use the half open tray method... the eject botton don't do anything.

you can open the dvd manually. go to the documents folder in ur jungle flasher folder and open up jftut1.4.3.pdf then go to page 90 / 261. it will show u how to open the drive manually and even has a picture.
