HI Guys,

I have successfully soldered the QSB and read the nands and they match i have programmed the cool runner, and done everything in FiB3rs guide upto intalling the coolrunner. Its now when i come to powering up the xbox that i have no joy. No lights come on the coolrunner at all even when the power is on. Although if i plug the cool runner into the nand x and switch it to PRG the red light comes on, i know this isnt what to do but i was just trying anything.

So i cant get the xbox to start with any lights on the coolrunner, can anyone help?

Should the nand x still be plugged into the cool runner?

Thanks Guys,

John

Hi John I had the same problem last night.

I assume you have programmer the CR for your model?

The nandx does not need to be plugged in to power it. You are going to want to check the 3v3 and gnd connections. If you used QSBs you may want to touch them up in case they became a little loose. After I redid my 3v3 points (on both CR and QSB and the GND point on the AV area, once I plugged in power it lit up red.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, i programmed the cool runner before i installed it, i will try again now with looking at all the solder points you suggested.

Thanks again

When you have the console plugged in not turn on, the red wire on the CR should read 3.3v or very close, put up some pix of your work sometimes people will see things you didn't

If you have to ask, you shouldn't be doing it.

See that big fat red wire that's labelled 3v3 on the coolrunner? Have a wild guess at what voltage that should be.

Avoiding sharp objects is one idea.
Not being left unsupervised is another.

jmel, before you proceed any further id recommend having a little read of the tuts and have a little understanding of what it is you actually need to do other wise i can see you causing some major problems for yourself if not fubbering your console

Never struggled with anything before then martin? always been brilliant at everything?

Unfortunately we are not all gods like yourself, and struggle occasionally, being sarcastic does not help anyone.

Thanks anyway

Thanks for the advice, i was only trying the hack because i was given the xbox with no drive, so if it breaks its no real concern.

Thanks anyway

Seeing as you asked, yes - I encounter problems daily with various projects (and my proper job).

It's all to do with attitude. You get one thing fixed and instead of going off and reading, you post back 'now what?'.

Me? I get off my proverbial backside and search for the damned solution. Even when we have noob guides on this VERY forum (look in the stickys), people are STILL incapable of reading them. Now tell me there's no justification in what I wrote. Tell me you've actually bothered to read the guides already posted. I reckon the answer is no, when it's so EASY to just post every question which pops into your head.

EDIT: Here you go, I'll spoonfeed you.

Two noob guides right here.
