No Power to Switch Panel??

I've installed my X3 and I get no power to my switch panel and I get error message 16 (Dashboard error). I do get the blue led lit up when the xbox is powered on so the chip is getting power. I've triple checked my solder points and for any shorts. My HD is modded so the default.xbe is the evox dash so it seems to me that is why I'm getting error 16. The flashbios isn't picking up so its looking for the MS dash. Assuming all of my solder points are correct, and I've fully seated the x3 cables, with no power and no flashbios on boot, would that mean that the x3 chip is bad????

Actually I found that it was a short in the switch panel. Once I disconnected the switch panel the bios booted without a problem. Weird..

you have probably bent the pins on the x3 chip where the front panel wires plug into. Easy to do given as those pins are so flimsy and the connectors isnt as good a build quality as the rest of the chip!
Same thing has happened to me b4 as it is possible to plug in the panel wire the wrong way round thus damaging the pins!

Hopefully this will be improved on future productions

Backing up games to play on older firmware

Hello,

As you will see, I am very much "out of the loop" when it comes to the latest modding.

I have an original X360 with the old Hitachi drive that Textbook modded for me with Xtreme 5.x firmware a couple fo years ago (don't know how to find out exact firmware release).

I never go online, so it has not been necessary to update to newer iExtreme, my backups have worked fine. I just got Mass Effect 2 and went to back it up, but it keeps giving me an "Open Tray" when I try to load it.

With these new wave6 games, do I have to mod them with abgx or something to get them to work, or is it even possible to get wave 6 working older firmware?

Any help greatly appreciated :D
