Re: Need help HITACHI 79

Do you have your drive powered on (either with a connectivity kit or the Xbox 360) and hooked up using SATA (or a USB to SATA adapter)? What OS are you using? Are you following the latest Jungle Flasher tutorial (if you are, please follow it correctly and read it carefully)? Does the drive still work in your Xbox 360? Has the drive been flashed or tampered with before? (Give us as much info as you can)

If using a connectivity kit that has an auto Mode-B feature - disable it and try again. Turn off your PC, turn on your Hitachi drive, turn on your PC, open Jungle Flasher and cycle through the ports to see if your drive shows up.

The following is from the Jungle Flasher tutorial:
JungleFlasher cannot see my drive
There are multiple causes to this, so
first of all ensure VIA Ports Only is
unchecked and Non-IDE is checked
under the DVDKey32 Tab.
If using RAID, it will cause issues. Set
it to Native IDE / Disable AHCI
(Intel) / Raid in your computers
BIOS.
Use a Primary SATA port where possible.

If using a VIA card ensure you use the correct port
JungleFlasher doesn’t see my DVD Drive (cont)
Quite a few users believe JungleFlasher will report their Xbox 360 DVD
Drive being Present in the Running Log:
JungleFlasher will only show drives that have been assigned a drive letter in
windows.
The only 360 DVD Drive that has this during the process is the Hitachi
Drives (Once in mode-b) and using WinAPI. Please, don’t be surprised if
JungleFlasher doesn’t enumerate your DVD Drive.
I’ve set Mode-B but my drive won’t show in the drop down box.
If using Windows Vista, or Windows 7, please close JungleFlasher, scan in
Device Manager and re-open JungleFlasher, if this doesn’t help, please
leave your drive tray Ejected, and reboot your PC with drive still powered
and in Mode-B.
If you are using PortIO option in Hitachi tab – It’s not meant to!

Okay, thanks.
Well, try all of my suggestions and see how far you can go.

I have two computers I use for flashing drives at my house - Hitachi drives are recognized easily on one but not on the other, which has a VIA PCI card. Hitachi drives can be a pain.
