No SATA options in my BIOS?

Hey,

I am trying to flash my drive for the first time (sammy ms28) and I have read a ton of stuff, tutorials etc, in the Textbook guide it mentions I need to set the SATA card (VIA) to Native/IDE in the BIOS and yet my BIOS has no options at all for changing the SATA options, I am using a Iprep boot disk and it recognises IDE1 and 2. I am attempting this using the bad flash method.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

you have to have a via chipset (some others will work)to flash a v25 or a v28.undue the ide drives in your computer.then boot from the floppy(bad idea you should use a usb flash
when the dos window comes up plug in toy sata cable.then put in idump.you should see xtreme master.that is when you turn off the power to the drive.hit the number for the xtreme drive.ten sec after you hit the number turn the power back on it should dump the firmware.

when it says restart the computer DONT wait the sam tool will run and build your hacked firmware.when you use a floppy it takes a min or 2 for the sam tool to start.

Thanks for the replies, I have a VIA Chipset and I have followed the instructions you gave, except when you say I should have Xtreme master I dont, I have no drives detected.

thats the trick you have to get it seeing the xtreme.they say that if you have a via chip set on your mother board it will work.i never could get it to work. i had to get this.

Fixed it, turned out there was another Internal SATA port and that was the one that worked! Like a charm now, all sorted. thanks for the replies.
